Anima Christi
Soul of Christ,
sanctify me.
Body of Christ,
save me.
Blood of Christ,
inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O good Jesus, hear me;
within your wounds
hide me.
Let me never be separated from you.
From the malicious enemy defend me.
In the hour of my death call me,
and bid me
come unto you,
that I may praise you with your saints
and with your angels,
forever and ever
Amen.

HABEMUS PAPAM / We have a pope.

Picture
Pope Leo XIV
Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, OSA, has been elected Pope Leo XIV-the first North American pope in history.  Born in Chicago and with years of missionary service in Peru, Pope Leo XIV brings a wealth of pastoral and global experience to the papacy.
A member of the Augustinian order, he has served as Prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops and President of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America.  Known for his dedication to the poor and marginalized, Pope Leo XIV continues the legacy of Pope Francis with a heart for service and unity.
Let us pray for Pope Leo XIV as he begins his ministry as the 267th successor of St. Peter. May the Holy Spirit guide him as he leads the Church into a new chapter!

Synod On Evangelization & Vocations

Picture
His Excellency Bishop Robert Barron has convoked a Diocesan Synod focused on the themes of evangelization and priestly vocations. This event aims to inspire and equip our community to share the joy of the Gospel and respond to God's call in their lives. As Pope Francis reminds us, we have a duty to share the Gospel with all whom we meet as we strive to be witnesses of Christ's love in the world.

The preparatory phase of the Synod will begin on March 2, 2025. During this phase, consultation will take place across the Diocese in order to aid the deliberations of the Synod assembly in August, on the Feast of the Queenship of Mary. We invite every member of the local church to participate in this preparatory phase by completing the survey on evangelizationand vocations, which can be accessed by visiting our Synodwebsite, or by scanning the code below.

MARY, QUEEN OF THE NEWEVANGELIZATION,
MOTHER OF PRIESTS, PRAY FOR US!

Letter to a Suffering Church
Bishop Barron speaks on the Sexual Abuse Crisis
April has been designated in our country as child abuse awareness month.  The sexual and physical abuse of children is a problem that runs through the whole of our society, but as we all know, it has been a particular curse within our own Catholic community.

Bishop Baron wrote a short book on this entire sad subject called Letter to a Suffering Church.  This text is available online, free of charge at, sufferingchurchbook.com.  Everyone in our diocese is encouraged to download and read it.

Please continue to pray for all the victim/survivors of sexual abuse throughout our society.
